"A Place Called Home is a dynamic, non-profit youth center located in South Central Los Angeles. APCH provides educational programs, counseling, mentoring, music, dance and art classes. We also have a recreation and athletic department. One on one attention is at the heart of all APCH programs and activities. This reflects the belief that each member arrives at our center with skills and abilities that have not fully been realized. As youth participate in our programs, they discover their interests and talents. APCH strives to help youth achieve a better sense of themselves and the world around them. Our goal is to increase the likelihood that they will stay in school and go on to higher education and viable jobs."

JOHN LONGENECKER learned from a Huffington Post report
that A PLACE CALLED HOME did good work providing young people in South Los Angeles a worthwhile program for after school learning, athletics, art, dance and music.

JOHN LONGENECKER
On his own he contacted APCH and arrange to visit their location.
He offered to record and edit some video clips talking with folks about their program.
He made video clips of the kids playing football on the APCH field, rehearsing for a dance performance, a music performance, and talking with instructors.

On his own he started up this APCH Films website
so he could get the APCH video clips he made up on the Internet
and as a place for future APCH video clips made by the kids.

Future Projects
JOHN LONGENECKER was eager to continue to work with APCH
to make more video clips of their activities
and to provide professional filmmaking related assistance in a number of ways

It was clear APCH leaders showed little interest in his efforts so he moved on to other concerns that interested him. They never contacted him again. A missed opportunity. Take a look at the interesting video clips he created.
